Location: Wrexham Maelor Hospital
We are looking for enthusiastic, caring, and motivated individuals to join our Radiology team at BCU East as Senior Radiology Clinical Support Workers (Band 3). This permanent role offers full-time and part-time hours.
In this key role, you will support Sonographers and Radiologists in delivering high-quality patient care across a wide range of diagnostic procedures. Your responsibilities will include assisting patients during examinations, preparing clinical areas, managing complex appointment bookings, and supporting the smooth flow of patients through the department. You will also play a vital part in the patient journey, ensuring an efficient and compassionate experience throughout. Main duties of the job
The Senior Radiology Clinical Support Worker (Band 3) plays a key role in supporting the safe, efficient, and patient-centred delivery of Radiology services.
- Working under the direction of Radiographers, Sonographers, and Radiologists, you will contribute to both clinical and administrative elements of the patient pathway, helping maintain high standards of care and smooth workflow.
- You will work independently within your scope of practice, undertaking delegated tasks linked to Radiographic and Ultrasound procedures.
- Duties include preparing patients and clinical areas, assisting clinicians during examinations, providing reassurance, and progressing routine procedures in line with departmental protocols and safety guidelines.
- Alongside clinical tasks, you will support administrative functions such as booking and coordinating appointments, updating patient records, and helping to manage workflow to ensure timely service delivery.
- Flexibility is essential, as you may work across different areas of Radiology depending on service needs. You will also participate in ongoing training to maintain competency and support service improvements.
- This is a frontline role involving sensitive or distressing situations, so compassion, professionalism, and excellent communication skills are vital to delivering a positive patient experience.
