Overview

We are delighted to offer this full-time development post in our neurodevelopment service in North Wales. You will join a well-established and diverse MDT providing highly specialised neurodevelopmental assessments and support for neuro-divergent children and young people and their families. The post involves contributing to supervision, training, and service improvement activities within a vibrant Child Psychology team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist psychological input to neurodevelopmental assessments and interventions.
  • Deliver a range of assessments and therapeutic interventions, with some Care Co-Ordination.
  • Promote psychological thinking and formulation within a multidisciplinary team and provide consultation to multi-agency professionals and families.
  • Contribute to supervision of colleagues, including assistant psychologists, and participate in training and teaching.
  • Support service improvement activities, including audits and service evaluation, and be involved in leadership and service development.

Development and Support

This post is part of the wider Child Psychology team where quality improvement, supervision, and continued professional development are valued. We have regular teaching and placements with Bangor Clinical Psychology Programme. A development plan will be agreed on commencing the post, with a target timescale of 6 months to 2 years to complete, depending on current skills and experience. Regular clinical supervision will be provided by a Senior Clinical Psychologist. Promotion to a substantive 8a post will be achieved on fulfilling required competencies.

Qualifications and Experience

We are seeking a newly qualified Clinical Psychologist who has relevant experience and can demonstrate commitment to clinical quality, evidence-based practice, and maintaining high professional standards for themselves and others.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply. The post is based with Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) in North Wales, one of the largest health organisations in Wales, providing a full range of primary, community, mental health, and hospital services.
