Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board in North Wales is a dynamic and patient‑focused organisation. The Board manages a number of GP practices and develops them towards gold‑standard exemplars to better meet the local population’s needs. The role seeks GPs who share a vision for high quality medical care and compassion within primary care, and who will actively deliver this across GP Practice sites in Wrexham and Flintshire. Both full‑time (37.5 hrs per week) and part‑time positions will be considered.
Responsibilities
- Manage a patient caseload and handle a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, including surgery, telephone, video, and email consultations, home visits, advice to colleagues, and timely paperwork, referrals and correspondence.
- Work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team, sharing clinical knowledge and experience.
- Demonstrate a contemporary, patient‑centred, prudent, and team‑enabling approach to primary care through day‑to‑day action.
- Maintain flexibility to meet practice demands, with an individual work plan agreed with the successful applicant.
- Support the Board’s aim to provide a rewarding and satisfying place to work.
Qualifications – Essential Criteria
- Full GMC Registration with a licence to practise and entry on the GP Register.
- Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in General Practice, or Certificate Confirming Eligibility for General Practice Registration (CEGPR), or equivalent.
- Included on a Medical Performers List or eligible for inclusion.
- Evidence of continuous professional development.
- Vocational GP training and experience in general practice.
- Experience working in a multi‑disciplinary team.
- Proven ability to handle a busy and varied primary care caseload and respond flexibly to workload fluctuations.
- Ability to take independent clinical decisions and seek advice when appropriate.
- Commitment to a team approach and multi‑disciplinary working.
- Effective counselling and communication skills.
- Understanding of clinical risk management and clinical governance.
- Commitment to participating in and understanding of the management process.
- Good IT proficiency.
- Ability to develop and sustain relationships within and across organisations.
- Ability to draft letters, reports, and protocols in a timely manner.

- MRCGP certification.

- Eligibility for minor surgery, obstetrics, and family planning accreditation.
