Please note that we will only accept applications from staff currently employed by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. The Ward Clerk will give efficient clerical assistance to the Ward. The provision of an efficient clerical service is essential to ensure the speedy admission, discharge, and transfer of patients.

By the nature of the duties, the Ward Clerk will be required to maintain strict confidentiality and will be expected to deal with patients and relatives with courtesy and discretion at all times. The ability to speak Welsh is essential for this post.

Main duties of the job

The Ward Clerk is responsible to the Service Manager in providing an efficient clerical service across the wards. For accountability and development purposes, the Ward Clerk will be under the direct responsibility of the Service Manager.

    • Able to demonstrate English and Mathematics to GCSE C Grade or equivalent level
    • RSA Level 1 or equivalent
    • Welsh speaking (minimum of level 3)
  • Desirable criteria
    • NVQ 2 Admin/Customer Care

Experience

  • Essential criteria
    • Previous experience of office and administrative procedures
  • Desirable criteria
    • Previous NHS experience
