Job Overview
Only applicants currently employed by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board will be considered. This role is a Band 6 Physiotherapist based in BCUHB Central Integrated Health Care (IHC) facility.
The post covers core rotations in acute and community hospital settings, including musculoskeletal (MSK), adult medicine (including COTE), neuro, community, trauma & orthopaedics (T&O), respiratory and oncology. Some rotations offer work in community hospitals in the Conwy and Denbighshire areas.
Physiotherapy service offers a career pathway to Band 8A as a clinical advanced practitioner. Service improvement and development encouraged, all staff receive regular supervision, mentoring, and training.
The post is in a supportive team in a scenic part of the UK. Knowledge of Welsh is desirable but not essential.
Main Duties of the Job
- Carry out physiotherapy assessments and treatments, developing individualized therapeutic treatment programmes for a specialised caseload in the relevant clinical area.
- Provide care to patients with both physical and psychological issues, including those with complex needs.
- Ensure a high standard of care, working with patients, families/carers, multi-agency teams and disciplines.
- Communicate appropriately with patients, carers, agencies, and other disciplines, often handling sensitive information, diagnoses or outcomes.
- Supervise, teach and appraise peers, physiotherapists, physiotherapy assistants, technical instructors, students and other members of multidisciplinary or multiagency teams.
- Train and supervise patients, families/carers and staff from other disciplines or agencies in programmes of care devised by the therapist.
- Deputise and support the Clinical Team Leader as required in daily management of the designated team.
