This post is fixed term/secondment for 12 months due to secondment cover. The Pharmacy Stores & Distribution team at Glan Clwyd Hospital provides services directly to wards, theatres, departments and clinics across the Central IHC area of BCUHB. We are looking for a self‑motivated, patient‑and‑service‑focused Pharmacy Assistant.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, store, distribute and dispose of medicines
- Support accurate stock levels
- Use pharmacy IT systems to process requests efficiently
- Travel between sites in a timely manner as required
- Assist with general public holiday and weekend pharmacy services as necessary
Qualifications and Knowledge
Essential criteria:
- GCSE pass or equivalent in Maths and English Language
- NVQ Level 2 in pharmacy services or willingness to undertake and achieve NVQ Level 2 within 12 months of appointment
Experience
Essential criteria:
- Working as part of a team
Desirable criteria:
- Pharmacy experience in hospital, community or other settings
- Customer service experience
Aptitude And Abilities
Essential criteria:
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Work within own limitations
- Basic knowledge of computer systems
- Positive approach to personal development
Desirable criteria:
- Knowledge of pharmacy computer systems
- Knowledge of handling hazardous substances safely
- Experience dispensing
