This post is fixed term/secondment for 12 months due to secondment cover. The Pharmacy Stores & Distribution team at Glan Clwyd Hospital provides services directly to wards, theatres, departments and clinics across the Central IHC area of BCUHB. We are looking for a self‑motivated, patient‑and‑service‑focused Pharmacy Assistant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, store, distribute and dispose of medicines
  • Support accurate stock levels
  • Use pharmacy IT systems to process requests efficiently
  • Travel between sites in a timely manner as required
  • Assist with general public holiday and weekend pharmacy services as necessary

Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential criteria:

  • GCSE pass or equivalent in Maths and English Language
  • NVQ Level 2 in pharmacy services or willingness to undertake and achieve NVQ Level 2 within 12 months of appointment

Experience

Essential criteria:

  • Working as part of a team

Desirable criteria:

  • Pharmacy experience in hospital, community or other settings
  • Customer service experience

Aptitude And Abilities

Essential criteria:

  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Work within own limitations
  • Basic knowledge of computer systems
  • Positive approach to personal development

Desirable criteria:

  • Knowledge of pharmacy computer systems
  • Knowledge of handling hazardous substances safely
  • Experience dispensing
