Job Overview

We are seeking a self‑motivated, patient/service focused individual to join our existing team of Pharmacy Assistants working within the dispensary.

Facilitating the smooth flow of work through the dispensary, ensuring patients, staff and other parties have the necessary information to meet medication supply needs.

You will also ensure the timely collection of pharmacy orders and the delivery of pharmaceuticals to all wards and departments.

The post holder undertakes general courier duties to ensure the smooth running of the pharmacy and moving of bulk products and equipment as required.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate smooth flow of work through the dispensary, ensuring patients, staff and other parties have necessary information to meet medication supply needs.
  • Collect pharmacy orders and deliver pharmaceuticals to all wards and departments.
  • Perform general courier duties to ensure smooth running of pharmacy and move bulk products and equipment.
  • Maintain adequate stock of supplies and perform housekeeping duties.

Qualifications

  • Desirable: Familiar with drug names, experience in a similar environment (hospital or chemist), experience with computers.
  • Essential: Able to perform all tasks described in the job description.
  • Essential: Participate in general public holiday and weekend pharmacy services as necessary.
  • Essential: Ability to work flexible hours.
  • Essential: Team player, able to work alone and under supervision, can work under pressure/to schedules, good communication skills.
  • Desirable: Ability to speak Welsh (desirable but not required).
