The post holder will act as the professional nurse lead providing clinical advice, leadership development, monitoring, and management of all nursing resources for Cancer Division adult services within the designated clinical area. This includes the Systemic Anti Cancer (SACT) service to facilitate excellent nursing practice to ensure the delivery of a high quality, patient‑centred service.

They will be a clinical nurse leader, working with the Management Team to identify opportunities for service change and improvement, encouraging and enabling advancement and development of associated evidence‑based services. He/she will be instrumental in developing and implementing the Clinical Governance frameworks within their area of responsibility, providing advice and guidance to the team, and be responsible for the planning of services and care coordination across the Cancer division, engaging with all stakeholders. Innovation and transformation skills will be essential within this role.

The Matron will be responsible for leadership and development of the nursing team within the Cancer Division, continuously monitoring and improving quality standards and patient experience. Our Matron will ensure professional challenge as needed to set excellent standards within the environment of care, maintaining and monitoring these standards through being highly visible within all clinical areas. He/she will lead by example in a compassionate manner, demonstrating the values of our organisation at all times. Leading the development of our workforce will be critical within the role to ensure a future workforce to meet the needs of our patients on their cancer journey. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
