An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to work at the Cardiac Catheter Laboratory as a Band 2 Healthcare Support Worker. This is a developmental post to a Band 3 once all the essential training and development criteria have been achieved. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with a genuine interest in cardiology and intervention, keen to be involved in this expanding and dynamic service. Excellent communication and organisational skills are required.
The post holder will support the team in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of evidenceâbased nursing care, working collaboratively with others to meet the needs of patients and their families. The candidate must be an excellent roleâmodel and be capable of building strong working relationships. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome.
Main duties of the job:- Assist Registered nurses and other team members in delivering a high standard of patient care.
- Assist in admitting, caring for, and discharging patients through their journey in the Cardiac Cath Lab, including preparing patients preâprocedure and ensuring afterâcare recovery postâprocedure.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team of Doctors, Nurses, Radiographers and Cardiac Physiologists to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for patients.

Person specification:- Education and Qualifications
- Essential: Moving and Handling Course completed.
- Desirable: Level II NVQ certificate in direct patient care or working towards.
- Experience
- Essential: Previous nursing or hospital wardâbased experience. Previous experience of working with the public.
- Desirable: Some experience of cardiology or catheter lab work.
- Knowledge and Skills
- Essential: Abide by all trust policies and protocols. Demonstrate some understanding of infection control.
- Desirable: IV cannulation. Venepuncture. Can perform ECGs.
- Personal
- Essential: Ability to work well within a multiâdisciplinary team. Effective communication skills.
