An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Health Care Support Worker to join Dinas Female Ward, Ablett Unit. Dinas Female is an adult mental health ward for female patients. For further details please contact the Recruiting Manager. Informal visits are welcomed. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will work as part of the nursing team delivering evidence-based high-quality clinical care that focuses on the direct need of the patient. The post holder will assist registered nurses/practitioners in the provision of delegated care of patients. The post holder will endeavour to provide for the holistic needs of the individual, in conjunction with other disciplines within the health care environment. The post holder will undertake a broad range of duties and will be expected to work independently and as part of the team, supervising patients and assisting them with future care plans.

- Essential criteria: NVQ Level 3 or working towards level 3 to be achieved within 18 months of appointment and with relevant experience in working in a healthcare or mental health setting.
Experience
- Essential criteria: Previous experience within the health care sector or specifically in a Mental Health care setting.

- Essential criteria: Understanding of risk management and health & safety issues.
- Understanding of patient confidentiality.
