We are recruiting a part‑time permanent nurse for the Endoscopy Unit at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd. The unit operates a 7‑day service and provides a variety of diagnostic, therapeutic and surveillance procedures including gastroscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, PEG insertion, bronchoscopy, EBUS, ENB, and ERCP. The unit also hosts the Bowel Screening Wales Programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high‑quality, patient‑focused care with pride and respect.
  • Perform and support a range of endoscopy procedures (gastroscopy, sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, PEG insertion, bronchoscopy, EBUS, ENB, ERCP).
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Contribute to practice development and participate in training and bespoke courses.
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team and support colleagues.

Qualifications

Essential Criteria

  • Registered General Nurse.
  • Registered Operating Department Practitioner.

Desirable Criteria

  • Diploma or Degree level or willing to work toward one.

Experience

Essential Criteria

  • Substantial experience working in a gastroenterology setting.
  • Evidence of contribution to practice development.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience in endoscopy nursing.
  • Evidence of gastroenterology or endoscopy course.

Skills

Essential Criteria

  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to present factual information.
  • Ability to maintain accurate patient records.
