BCUHB are looking to recruit a Band 7 Continence Advisor to join our current Continence Team within Conwy and Denbighshire (Central Area). We are committed to ensuring we meet the direct needs of our local Communities, maintaining individuals' independence and improving their quality of life. The post supports the delivery of safe and effective services for patients with bladder and/or bowel dysfunction, focusing on assessment, management, and treatment to improve patient outcomes, requiring strong leadership to mentor staff and ensure high-quality care.

The post is suitable for an experienced Community Staff Nurse or Acute Nurse with Urology/Colorectal care experience, wishing to develop their skills, knowledge, and competencies in managing patients with Continence Care needs in a community setting. We would be looking for someone with excellent communication and leadership skills who would enjoy the challenge of further developing our current services. Person Specification:

  • NMC Registered first level Nurse or equivalent
  • Up to date knowledge of clinical and professional issues
  • Substantial experience within a senior position
  • Evidence of ongoing continuing professional development
  • Independent Nurse Prescribing or prepared to work towards
  • Master's Degree in Nursing Leadership or prepared to work towards

Experience:

  • Experience of Teaching
  • Ability to lead and influence change
  • Evidence of leading and managing change and service improvement
  • Experience of working in continence care
  • Ability to speak Welsh

Aptitude and Abilities:

  • Ability to make clinical decisions independently
  • Ability to prioritise effectively
  • Possess excellent and effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Evidence of effective team working as well as working autonomously

Other:

  • Ability to travel within the geographical area
