Wrexham Maelor Hospital is seeking a motivated Band 7 Respiratory Specialist Healthcare Professional to help develop and deliver our expanding Non-Invasive Ventilation (NIV) service. Working alongside our respiratory consultants, you'll provide expert clinical support for patients requiring NIV, drive service improvement, and act as a knowledgeable resource for the wider team. Main duties of the job:
- To work as an autonomous practitioner as part of the specialised Respiratory multidisciplinary team.
- The post holder will be responsible for providing a non-invasive ventilation service within North Wales.
- The post holder is the lead specialist for the NIV service at Wrexham Maelor Hospital.
- The post holder will act as a source of expertise on the management of NIV patients and provide an advisory service to other health care professionals, patients and carers.
- To carry out and liaise with set agreed objectives.
- To provide an autonomous respiratory assessment and diagnostic service, using advanced clinical judgement and knowledge of the speciality.
- To undertake audits relevant to the service on a regular basis.
- Develop and deliver an outreach NIV service to the Emergency Department and Emergency Quadrant.
- Provide education and support to the other departments with respect to Non-invasive ventilation as necessary.
- In addition, the post holder will be required to have the ability to use computer systems for data entry, spreadsheets and databases, checking of patient's records, emailing, preparing teaching packages and documentation.

Person Specification:
Qualifications/Knowledge:
- HCP or RGN level registration.
- Specialist respiratory knowledge equivalent to post grad level.
- Educated to post grad level in respiratory field.
- Have a clear understanding of NIV therapy and respiratory failure.
EXPERIENCE:
- Extensive experience in field of Respiratory Care.
- Specialist NIV knowledge and skills.
- Evidence of clinical governance.
