Ward 8 in Glan Clwyd Hospital is a friendly general surgical ward. We are looking for pro-active, forward-thinking nurses to join our established team. A fantastic area to learn how to nurse surgical patients, newly qualified nurses will be supported through their preceptorship period by both their mentor, ward staff, and the Ward Manager. Experienced nurses will be able to utilise skills already gained and will be encouraged to develop further. Full support will be given by ward staff.
Successful candidates would be expected to work days and nights on rotation, on a 7-day basis.
Main duties of the job:- Initial assessment and completion of documentation of patients with acute surgical and medical presentations.
- Regular assessment of patients' treatment needs and planning accordingly.
- Pressure ulcer prevention.
- Administration of medication, including IV medication.
- Liaising with other departments to coordinate patient care and treatment.
- Adhering to infection prevention policies and procedures.
Successful candidates will be supported to develop their skills and knowledge in acute assessment nursing by the senior nursing team. Ward 8 is a dynamic area ideal for individuals with a flexible and adaptable nature. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
