The predicted salary is between 37338 - 44962 £ per year.

This position is open only to staff currently employed by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. This role is a 12‑month secondment for maternity cover. Applicants must obtain permission from their current line manager before applying.

The post holder will work within a multidisciplinary team caring for adults and children with learning disabilities and complex health needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform assessments of individuals' needs.
  • Plan and deliver interventions to improve quality of life and achieve positive outcomes.
  • Plan collaboratively with other professionals in the team.
  • Provide education, knowledge, guidance and support to student nurses and unqualified staff.
  • Support clients and their families.
  • Travel between locations as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • RNLD registration (required).
  • Experience in learning disability services.
  • Broad experience in health & social care settings (desirable).
Knowledge:
  • Good understanding of learning disabilities, including mental health, forensics, challenging behaviour and PLD/complex conditions.
  • Awareness of current developments within a clinical setting.
  • Completed training in mentoring & assessing student nurses.
  • Understanding of clinical governance (desirable).
Personal Qualities:
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Self‑motivated.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement of client care (desirable).
Skills:
  • Ability to prioritise and work proactively.
  • Ability to manage a caseload independently.
