PLEASE NOTE THAT WE WILL ONLY ACCEPT APPLICATIONS FROM STAFF CURRENTLY EMPLOYED BY BETSI CADWALADER. This is an innovative role and the post holder will be an integral member of the Lung Multi-Disciplinary Team working independently, but under the guidance and supervision of the registered practitioner, to assist, support and coordinate the early diagnosis pathway for patients suspected of lung cancer and provide support throughout the pathway.
Responsibilities
- Co-ordination of the early diagnosis pathway for suspected lung cancer patients.
- Single point of access to patients; support and coordinate their needs.
- Ensure delivery of patient care is of the highest standard.
- Ensure IT monitoring systems are updated.
- Contribute to the delivery of elements of the Recovery Package.
Knowledge of NHS policies, especially relating to risk management, data protection and confidentiality, is required. Excellent negotiation and influencing, organisational, and communication skills are essential. Ability to speak Welsh is desirable.
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience
- Five GCSEs A‑C in English and Maths or equivalent
- Willingness to work towards Level 4 qualification
Desirable criteria
- ECDL or equivalent
- Working towards a foundation degree
Experience
Essential criteria
- Previous relevant experience in a healthcare environment in an indirectly supervised role
Desirable criteria
- Experience of a patient administration system
