A vacancy for various hours has become available for a Health Care Support Worker (HCSW) in Chirk Community Hospital on Ceiriog Ward. This is a full‑time post, but working hours and shifts can be discussed at interview. Our aim is to provide quality, planned care for patients. The successful candidate will work as part of a team of nurses responsible for providing, maintaining and coordinating a high standard of planned holistic care and nursing treatments, under the indirect supervision of the nurse in charge of the Hospital.
The role involves assisting patients to meet their personal care needs, recording observations and completing bedside documentation. Health Care Support Workers are also required to carry out general cleaning in the clinical environment by preparing bed spaces and cleaning equipment. In each shift, HCSWs are allocated to provide care for a group of patients. Duties include, but are not inclusive of, providing personal care; assisting with serving meals and drinks throughout the day; recording observations and accompanying patients for investigations.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main Duties of the Job- Assist registered nurses/practitioners to deliver based care to patients/clients, working in partnership with other health care professionals, the patient, their family and carers.
- Deliver patient care as documented in the nursing care plan and carry out a wide range of duties under the supervision of a registered nurse for the period of the shift.
- Support clients/service users in maintaining their health and wellbeing.

Person SpecificationQualifications- Essential Criteria: Basic numeracy, verbal and literacy skills; Level 2 NVQ/QCF in health and social care or equivalent experience within a health or care environment.
- Desirable Criteria: Completion of all Wales Induction Framework.
- Essential Criteria: Experience required to fulfil the requirements of the post; experience of dealing with the public within a health or care environment.
- Desirable Criteria: Previous experience working within the health care sector.
