This post is fixed term/secondment for 9 months due to maternity cover. If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.
As part of the Children's Community Nursing Team, the post holder will provide care and support to children in their homes or schools who have complex health care needs, including life‑limiting or life‑threatening conditions. You will be responsible for carrying out designated work that often involves direct patient care. This care will be delegated by trained staff. The post‑holder will be expected to work under indirect supervision of trained staff or as a lone worker. Shift patterns may involve a mixture of days, nights and weekends.
Main duties of the job include:
- Caring for children with complex health care needs in the community setting, either at home or at school.
- Providing hands‑on nursing care to these children following training and assessment of competence in various nursing skills.
- Being caring, compassionate, dedicated and flexible in approach.
- Working well on one’s own initiative and within a small team.
- Working shifts, including unsociable hours and nights.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
