A part time vacancy has become available for a Health Care Support Worker on Ffynnon Ward A in Holywell Community Hospital. The successful candidate will work as part of a team of nurses, under indirect supervision of the nurse in charge of the ward, to provide, maintain, and coordinate high‑standard, planned, holistic care and nursing treatments.

Main duties of the job:

  • Assist registered nurses/practitioners in delivering care to patients/clients, working in partnership with other health care professionals, the patient, their family, and carers.
  • Deliver patient care as documented in the nursing care plan.
  • Carry out a wide range of duties under the supervision of a registered nurse for the period of the shift.
  • Support clients/service users in maintaining their health and well‑being.
  • Undertake specified and delegated clinical and therapeutic activities.

Speak Welsh is desirable; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications:

  • Good general education – evidence of completion of QCF at Level 2 or equivalent within six months whilst in post.
  • Understanding of the role and function of Health Services.

Experience:

  • Previous or current role demonstrating experience working with members of the public.
  • Clear understanding of the clinical governance framework.

Skills:

  • Ability to maintain clear, accurate records and effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Understanding of risk management and health and safety issues.

Other:

  • Team player with the ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.
  • Ability to speak Welsh.
