An exciting opportunity to work as a Receptionist in the new state of the art, Health & Well-Being Centre based in the heart of Flint. The ability to speak Welsh is essential for this post.

Responsibilities

  • The successful applicant will act as the first point of contact for the Health Board and be responsible for assisting patients visiting the site, as well as colleagues and GP surgeries based within the Health Centre.
  • The post holder must have a helpful and pleasant manner with an enthusiasm to meet patients' expectations and requirements, making their clinical journey run as smooth as possible.
  • A flexible approach to this post is essential, as well as superb communications and ample computer skills.
  • The post holder may at times be required to work within different departments/sites to meet the demands of the service.

Person specification

  • Welsh Speaking: Welsh speaking essential.

Qualifications

  • GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent) in English language or equivalent level of experience.
  • IT or word processing qualification (e.g. RSA 2 or equivalent experience).

Desirable criteria

  • ECDL
  • NVQ Level 1 or equivalent in customer service.

Experience

  • Experience of using a computer system (e.g. GP clinical IT system).
  • Previous experience of working in a reception/office environment.
  • Experience of working with the general public.

Skills

  • Ability to input information onto a computer system with accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a busy environment, and deal with a number of different tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to communicate tactfully with patients.
  • Ability to resolve issues 'on the spot' using own judgement.
  • Ability to multitask in a busy office environment.

Knowledge

  • An understanding of confidentiality involved with post.
  • Knowledge of a range of work procedures and practices.
