Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Nurse Specialist in dermatology to join our team on a part-time permanent basis. The post holder will be an expert practitioner in dermatology nursing, providing clinical and educational support within the health board. They will deliver high quality evidence based, individualised care to patients with all types of dermatological problems.
Responsibilities
- Manage and provide a specialist service for patients with acute and chronic skin disease in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Assess and manage patients with leg ulcers, pre-cancerous and cancerous skin lesions; support consultant ward rounds.
- Handle a high clinical workload while providing clinical, social and psychological support to patients, enabling education and health promotion to reach optimum independence and health.
- Provide support and education to other health care professionals.
- Work as an autonomous practitioner to provide complex and specialised care, ensuring patients are supported in a holistic manner.
- Apply evidenced based practice to patients with both acute and chronic dermatological conditions in inpatient and outpatient settings.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Demonstrated clinical expertise as a dermatology nurse specialist; highly motivated, dynamic and forward thinking.
- Welsh language ability is desirable; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

We are part of Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (North Wales). The organization provides a full range of primary, community, mental health, acute and elective hospital services for a population of around 700,000 across North Wales. The post is part-time and permanent. The department includes consultant dermatologists, speciality doctors, specialist nurses and practitioners, and medical secretaries.
