The post-holder will need previous Medical Secretary experience, excellent time management skills, be well organised and be able to prioritise workload demands to meet strict deadlines while producing work to the highest standards. The post-holder will ensure the delivery of a comprehensive high quality medical secretarial and administrative service to the consultant, doctor, junior medical team, specialist nursing teams and other health professionals. The post-holder will be responsible for the guidance, supervision and direction of the admin team, dealing with appropriate day-to-day issues to oversee the smooth running of the department and providing support to the line manager. The post-holder must also have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, using discretion, judgement and initiative. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, together with a keen eye for detail and the ability to process and generate urgent and routine correspondence. The candidate must be able to maintain patient confidentiality and ensure a high standard of customer care at all times. A flexible approach to work is essential to meet the demands of the service.
