BCUHB are looking for a Continence Promotion Nurse to join our current Continence Staff within our Community Care Teams in Wrexham (East Area). We are committed to ensuring we meet the direct needs of our local Communities, maintaining individuals' independence and improving their quality of life. The post supports the delivery of safe and effective services for patients with bladder and/or bowel dysfunction. The post is suitable for an experienced Community Staff Nurse or Acute Nurse with Urology / Colorectal care experience, wishing to develop their skills, knowledge and competencies in managing patients with Continence Care needs in a community setting. We would be looking for someone with excellent communication / interpersonal skills, who would enjoy the challenge of further developing our current services. Main duties of the job:

  • Provide continence promotion care to patients with bladder and/or bowel dysfunction.
  • Develop and improve continence care services within the community.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and lead nurse‑led clinics.
  • Assess and support patients to maintain independence and improve quality of life.

Person Specification:

  • Qualification and/or knowledge: Nurse Prescriber or working towards, Evidence of CPD to Post Graduate Teaching Qualification or experience, Masters Degree Management Experience.
  • Experience: Community Experience, Experience in Continence promotion/Urology/Gynaecology, Experience working in a senior capacity as part of a MDT, Experience in undertaking nurse‑led clinics, Willing to undertake further training in respect of specialist role.
  • Aptitude and Abilities: Able to work as an autonomous practitioner, Leadership and management skills, Organisational and assessment skills, Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills, Able to respect and value the contributions of others, Ability to speak Welsh.
  • Other: Flexible approach to work, Ability to travel.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.

£39,263 to £47,280 a year per annum, pro rata.
