Job Overview
Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) North Wales is seeking a Health Visitor to join the universal Health Visiting service in the Colwyn Bay area, North Wales.
This role is open only to current BCUHB staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a defined population/caseload, focusing on increasing family resilience and improving health outcomes.
- Deliver and organise the Healthy Wales Child Programme for children aged 0‑5 within the service area.
- Conduct assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for families and external organisations, with emphasis on safeguarding children.
- Coordinate and delegate work within a multi‑disciplinary skill‑mix team.
- Contribute to public health initiatives and the Healthy Child Wales Programme.
Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent in Health Visiting with current NMC registration.
- SC PHN Health Visitor Post Graduate Diploma or Certificate.
- In‑depth understanding of public health agenda and priorities; ability to apply and enact local strategy.
- Knowledge of All Wales Child Protection Procedures (2008) and practice; familiarity with Healthy Child Wales Programme.
Desirable Qualifications
- SC PHN Degree
- Mentorship or Clinical Supervisor experience.
- Nurse Prescribing.
- Level 3 Safeguarding.
- Ability to speak Welsh.
