With support from the Site Specialty Manager, Senior Managers and clinicians, the post holder will be responsible for the daily operational management of medical staffing issues and rota coordination. Key aspects of this post include developing, coordinating and managing all on call rotas within the Cancer Division. The post holder will have responsibility for producing and managing the on call roster through the Health Roster electronic system. Support the co-ordination and management of sickness and recruitment. The post holder will work within the Operational Management Team with support from the Site Specialty Manager to ensure training rotas are monitored twice yearly to ensure sustained compliance with the New Deal and all rotas are EWTR compliant.

By nature of this post, excellent written and communication skills as well as the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines are essential. There will be a requirement to travel to Ysbyty Gwynedd and Ysbyty Wrexham Maelor. This post will need to be covered over 5 days a week.

Main duties of the job:

  • The post holder will provide day to day operational management of the administration and clerical/clinical staff within the Division.
  • The Clinical Services co-ordinator will support the Management Team in ensuring sound administrative processes are in place to support the Directorate clinical teams in achieving operational objectives in an efficient and effective way.

Excellent written and communication skills together with the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines are essential. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Essential criteria:

  • Degree level Management or equivalent experience
  • High level administration role for significant time

Desirable criteria:

  • Professional Management Qualification
  • Currently pursuing a qualification in NHS Management
  • ECDL

Experience:

Essential criteria:
  • Extensive experience of staff management
  • Previous experience of managing financial resources
  • Sound knowledge of IT systems
  • Knowledge of waiting list management
  • Knowledge and understanding of the terms and conditions of junior medical working patterns
  • Experience of handling complex/sensitive complaints or situations/issues
  • Able to communicate with all levels of staff representatives and managers in a clear and confident manner

Desirable criteria:

  • Previous NHS experience
  • Experience of project work
  • Management of databases
