This exciting opportunity has arisen to work within a dynamic and motivated immunisation team.
The post holder will work within the Wrexham and Flintshire Children’s Immunisation Team, with the base being Saltney Health Clinic. The team offers and delivers the immunisation programme to school‑aged children in various community settings. This position is for a Band 3 Health Care Support Worker who will assist in the delivery of the nasal flu programme.
Main duties of the job
- Work as a team member to visit schools and other community settings to deliver immunisations to school‑aged children.
- Travel between sites across Wrexham and Flintshire.
- Deliver the nasal flu programme to all school‑aged children.
- Offer all the high‑school vaccinations, including HPV, DTP, Men ACWY and MMR.
- The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Must hold Level 3 NVQ/QCF (a health care associated certificate)
- Introduction to Immunisation Training Course for HCSW (or be prepared to undertake)
- Basic Life Support training or work towards
- Anaphylaxis training or work towards
- Understand the lines of accountability and have insight into limitations of this role
- Numeracy and literacy skills
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of continuing personal development relevant to the role in health care
- Knowledge of the Immunisation public health agenda
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of working in a multi‑disciplinary team
- Experience in providing care and undertaking clinical observations
