We are seeking a compassionate leader and manager to collaborate in the development of the Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS) Early Help services in Gwynedd and Mon. This senior clinician role will build on preventative and early intervention approaches to improve emotional wellbeing and mental health outcomes for babies, infants, children, young people, families and carers.
The position involves working strategically across health, education, social care and third sector organisations to lead service transformation aligned with BCUHB and Welsh Government priorities. The Early Help services are influenced by the NEST framework, the GOV.WALES whole‑school approach to emotional and mental wellbeing, and the Health and Care Quality Standards 2023.
Main Duties- Supervise, train and coach CAMH Early Help Practitioners and promote practice‑based research and enquiry to develop the service and practitioner knowledge and skills.
- Support schools and communities, utilising specialised research skills for audit, policy and service development.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of local policies and procedures to support ongoing service quality improvements.
- Use highly specialised clinical skills to supervise Early Help colleagues.
- Involve in regional and national service developments linked to West CAMHS Early Help and provide consultation to further promote mental health in schools and communities.
- Travel throughout the region as required.

Person SpecificationQualifications (Essential)
- Post‑graduate Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent accredited by the British Psychological Society).
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Clinical Psychologist.
- Clinical supervision training for supervising Doctoral trainees.
Experience (Essential)
- Substantial assessed experience as a qualified and senior clinical psychologist, normally including significant post‑qualification experience within the designated speciality.
- Demonstrated experience working effectively as a qualified and senior level clinical psychologist in the designated speciality or relevant transferable skills.
- Demonstration of further specialist training and experience through extensive clinical supervision of specialist Clinical Psychologists.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience applying clinical psychology in diverse cultural contexts.
- Experience representing psychology within multidisciplinary care.
- Experience in professional management of qualified clinical psychologists and other staff.
Skills
- Essential: Ability to speak Welsh fluently.
