An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated nursing leader to undertake a secondment as Head of Nursing for Children's Services. This role has become available to ensure continuity of leadership and maintain the safe and effective delivery of services during a period of transition.
Main duties
The postholder will provide visible professional nursing leadership across Children’s Services, supporting quality, patient safety, workforce development, operational performance and service improvement. Working closely with clinical, operational and corporate colleagues, the successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining service stability, supporting teams through ongoing challenges and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, compassionate care for children, young people and their families. This is an excellent development opportunity for an individual looking to broaden their leadership experience and contribute strategically to the future development of Children’s Services.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

- First degree or equivalent professional, expert / specialist knowledge
- Masters Degree or equivalent in Health related subject
- Evidence of continuous professional development and attendance at relevant formal structured courses, either short or long term

- Post graduate management qualification
Experience
- Essential criteria
- In depth professional knowledge of nursing performance management, staff management acquired through training and experience over extended period
- Extensive and varied experience based on working in a strategic nursing role with a track record of achievement
- Extensive Senior Managerial experience with budgetary and management of staff and services
- Extensive and significant experience of implementing strategic, long term policy development and strategic direction in Nursing
- Considerable experience and highly developed clinical skills used in day to day management of community nursing
- Evidence of managing resources in a complex environment
- Ability to think, plan and deliver strategically
- Complaints management and experience of the litigation process
