As a laboratory support worker in Blood Sciences, the post holder works under the supervision of qualified scientists for delegated tasks required for delivery of a 24/7 medical laboratory service analysing and reporting on blood, urine, faeces and other body materials to achieve efficient and effective patient care and resource management within the hospital.
Main Duties:
- Part of an ongoing service, the Blood Sciences Department in Ysbyty Gwynedd is appointing a full-time Band 3 Medical Laboratory Assistant.
- The role complements the expertise of experienced scientists and science assistants and is part of a fast-paced laboratory diagnostics service.
- The successful candidate will have basic knowledge of laboratory services and a capacity to learn and develop with a drive to deliver excellent service for the community.
- With strong teamwork skills, the candidate will communicate well, support colleagues, focus on quality service, and treat others with respect and dignity.
- Peer support is provided, and a close-knit, sociable team offers support and training to further skills.
Welsh speaking ability is desirable; Welsh and/or English speakers are welcome to apply.
