About the Department
Computer Science is a well‑resourced Department that leads the school in new initiatives. We have a suite of five computer rooms. In addition, all classrooms across the school have interactive whiteboards to enhance teaching and learning with opportunities to utilise video conferencing.
Curriculum Overview
In Years 7 students are introduced to the basics of programming. Students currently begin GCSE Computer Science in Year 10 (completing in Year 11). Computer Science to A level is offered as part of the sixth form curriculum. This is currently an area of growth with the subject becoming an increasingly popular choice. Computer Science staff are passionate about the purposefulness of technology and successfully challenge students to further their knowledge and exercise their mind beyond mere computer games.
