Job Description

Full Time & Part-time hours(37.5 hours per week)

£11.50 per hour

We are recruiting for a new team to support a mother and daughter in the Telford area. This is a really exciting role for someone who loves to support people to have a lot of fun and adventures, but also be grounded on home days to help out with life skills.

Our Supported People are looking for kind, patient and compassionate staff members to support them. It is important to them that Support Workers are pro-active and have a positive attitude. You must be fun, outgoing and like to participate in all activities. You will be supporting weekly visits to theme parks and must enjoy going on the big rides. You should also like animals and especially cats, and visits to the zoo and safari parks. Do you like swimming and are happy to be in the pool having a good time? As your role will be to support with swimming and other activities

Honesty and reliability are key values in this service as change to plans and routine can be a challenge. You should be prepared to work some longer days to support day trips each week. Also be prepared to support on holidays and mini breaks. You will need to assist with day to day living skills. This includes supporting to looking after the house and help to keep it tidy. House management and organisation skills are important. You will also enjoy cooking and advise with nutritional balanced meal planning.

There will also be an element of emotional and well-being support, to ensure that people remain on base line. Good communication and clear spoken English is important to the people you will be supporting as they can find processing information sometimes a challenge.

*There are no sleep overs or wake nights in this service, unless supporting on holidays and mini breaks. There is no personal care needed.

We are looking for Female Support Workers over 30. Any Male staff will be considered if they are a good match.

  • Driver with UK manual licence and own vehicle.
  • Need to be adaptable
  • Good communication skills
  • Good IT knowledge/skills/systems
  • Experience of working with people with Learning Disabilities and Autism

Desirable Requirements;

  • Health and Social Care Level 3
