We have an exciting new opportunity in the Whitchurch-Market Drayton area for an Assistant Service Manager who can share in Bethphage's values. As the Assistant Service Manager, you will provide high quality support to adults with learning disabilities and Autism, ensuring they are supported to develop and maintain independence, take part in community activities, leisure, education and work opportunities in a person-centred way.

The role will involve supporting the Service Manager to lead the day-to-day management of three supported living services providing twenty-four hour care, seven days a week, as well as four smaller outreach services. You will ensure your teams provide high quality support to develop and maintain the supported people's independence, take part in community activities, leisure, education and work opportunities of the person's choice.

The ideal person will be an experienced health and social care worker, a good communicator, able to network and work with people at all levels. They should be confident and knowledgeable of the sector, able to get on with the role and deal with issues, knowing when to seek help and advice. They will be able to use IT and write legibly, have significant experience of person-centred and positive behaviour support. Candidates will be considered who do not have a level 3 qualification, but have a willingness to work towards this. Though you will have suitable supervisory experience and professional knowledge in the sector, ideally in learning disability.

The role will be 4 days off rota and 1 day on rota completing a support shift in one of the services. Some evening and weekend working may be required.

Essential Requirements:

  • Driver with UK manual licence and own vehicle
  • Level 3 in Health and Social Care or working towards
  • An understanding of Person-Centred thinking and planning
  • Good communication skills
  • Good literacy skills
  • Good IT knowledge/skills/systems
  • Experience of working with people with Learning Disabilities and Autism
  • To be able to work using own initiative as well as part of a team
  • Supervisory experience
  • An understanding of Positive Behaviour Support
