What Will The Role Involve?
This is a brand new role within the Company. As our Yard/Driver Support Operative, you will work Monday – Friday and will assist the Yard Manager and the Transport Team to ensure that all aspects of the yard are controlled and maintained, ensuring safety is always a priority and the sites are supported accordingly. You will be expected to accept deliveries and control access and transport within the yard, making sure that everybody complies with the company’s procedures and Health and Safety requirements. You’ll be expected to ensure the yard is kept tidy and organised so materials can be stored and then reused when required. You’ll also help with the recording of supplies in the yard, such as aggregates, sand stocks, building materials and plant, to ensure communication is clear at all times. As part of the support driver role, you will be expected to deliver materials/equipment/fuel to different site locations.

The successful candidate will need a practical mindset, enjoy working outdoors and be comfortable taking a hands‑on approach to work tasks. You should be prepared to challenge unsafe working practices and be confident in reporting these to management. The role involves working alone and as part of a team in all weathers, so you should be a resilient self‑starter with good time management and the ability to efficiently manage your own workload. You should be a confident and safety focused approach to driving with a positive mindset. You should also be a good problem‑solver, decision maker, communicator and one who displays exemplary attitudes and behaviours. Full Clean Driving Licence. Experience in Construction / Yard / Stores would be an advantage.
