Bethell is expanding, and we are looking for an experienced and proactive Senior Planner to join our Planning team. This role will be pivotal in supporting the wider business across a diverse portfolio of civil engineering and infrastructure projects. If you’re a natural problem-solver, confident communicator and experienced planner with strong technical capability, we’d love to speak with you.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Developing detailed project programmes from first principles using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
  • Supporting tender submissions with accurate, logical and contract-compliant programmes.
  • Tracking, updating and reporting on live project programmes, including EoT and NEC Clause 62 assessments.
  • Working collaboratively with project teams, subcontractors and clients to monitor progress and address risks and opportunities.
  • Challenging, advising and guiding internal teams to ensure a shared understanding of programme ownership.
  • Ensuring all programmes reflect safe working practices, sufficient mobilisation time and efficient resource allocation.
  • Identifying continuous improvement opportunities and contributing to delivery strategies.

What we’re looking for:

  • 3+ years in a planning role and 10+ years in the civil engineering/construction sector.
  • Civil Engineering qualifications (HND or similar) and experience in highways, structures or water infrastructure are desirable.
  • Strong experience in P6 and Microsoft Project.
  • Ability to interpret drawings/specifications and build accurate programmes.
  • Understanding of NEC contracts, CDM regulations and temporary works.
  • A proactive, analytical and collaborative approach.
  • Confident communication skills with clients and colleagues.
  • Full UK driving licence.
