Are you highly organised, safety-focused and ready to take ownership of a busy construction yard? Bethell Construction is looking for an Office / Yard Manager to oversee the safe, efficient and professional running of our yard, supporting Bethell operations. This is a hands-on, varied role where no two days are the same.
What you’ll be doing
- Keeping the yard safe, controlled and well-organised at all times
- Providing coordination throughout the main office including administration
- Managing deliveries, collections, vehicle access and stock movement
- Carrying out daily checks on plant and equipment, reporting defects or damage
- Ensuring compliance with company procedures and Health & Safety requirements
- Carrying out toolbox talks and daily briefings
- Supporting sites by recording and communicating available materials and plant
- Leading and motivating the yard team to meet high standards and pass audits
- Maintaining plant and vehicles, ensuring they are clean, safe and ready to hire
- Promoting sustainability by encouraging re-use and recycling of materials
What we’re looking for
- Experience in a yard, plant, or stores-based role (construction background preferred)
- Knowledge of safe working practices and basic Health & Safety requirements
- Good organisational, time management and communication skills
- A proactive, team-oriented and safety-first approach
- A driving licence (essential)
- Telehandler / FLT qualifications or experience (advantageous, training can be provided)
- Basic plant maintenance, welding or telematics knowledge (desirable, training can be given)
