As a Casual Support Worker at Supported Housing Dumfries, you will have the unique opportunity to work directly with individuals facing housing challenges, providing them with the guidance and resources they need to thrive. You will help individuals facing housing crises by creating support plans that encourage their personal growth and independence. You will advocate for them by connecting them to essential services and building trust‑based relationships.
We are seeking compassionate people with genuine Christian values and a commitment to our mission. Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are vital. A proactive approach to problem‑solving and a willingness to learn and grow are also essential for this position.
Experience and knowledge of our service user group and the issues surrounding them are very helpful, but this is also an opportunity for you to learn on the job. SVQ 3 in Social Care or equivalent is desirable, coupled with experience in a Residential/Housing support setting.
As Bethany is a Christian organisation, this post carries an Occupational Requirement in line with the Equality Act 2010. Applicants should demonstrate an active Christian faith and commitment. Successful applicants for this post will require membership of the PVG scheme.
