Role
Our new Customs Coordinator will play a key role in supporting our clients with customs and international trade requirements. Working closely with the wider Bethan team, they will help businesses navigate customs processes with confidence, ensuring a high level of accuracy, compliance and customer service. This role is ideal for someone with customs experience who enjoys helping people, solving problems and making a real difference to the businesses they support.
Responsibilities
- Operations
- Compliance Checking
- Import & Export Entries
- Preparing import/export amendments
- Report writing
- Calculation of import duty and VAT for diversions to home use
- Supporting clients with customs queries
- Supporting clients with management and maintenance of their Customs Authorisations
- Drafting End Use and IP Bill of Discharge
- Supporting Bethan Operations as and when required
- HSEQ
- Review and follow company QMS procedures
- Job specific procedure creation and amendments
- Communications
- Assist with PR & Marketing campaigns as requested
- Share ideas for company Newsletter, social media or other marketing mediums
- QHSE Responsibilities
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to Quality, Health, Safety and the Environment.
- Apply Bethan Customs Consultancy, and where appropriate, Client Company’s, Quality, Health, Safety & Environment Policy and Safety Management Systems
The above does not include all the duties that a Customs Coordinator may be asked to perform. This role may be required to perform other duties and handle other responsibilities in addition to the above from time to time.
Applicants must
- Have previous customs experience and a good understanding of customs procedures and compliance requirements
- Be passionate about supporting clients and helping businesses navigate international trade challenges
- Demonstrate exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
- Have strong reporting and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and present information clearly
- Be computer literate with an excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and SharePoint
- Have the ability to work effectively as part of a team, as well as independently
- Have experience handling confidential client information with discretion and professionalism
- Be motivated, proactive and able to use initiative to solve problems
- Have the ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise workload to meet business and client demands
- Possess a good level of general education of at least Higher Grade in Mathematics and English, or equivalent
- Hold a full UK Driving Licence
