Job Description:
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Explains procedure to patient prior to testing.
- Assists in gathering patient assessment data for physician review.
- Assures adequate equipment and supplies for testing.
- Maintains accurate records.
- Assists in monitoring patient EKG and vital signs during stress test and recovery period.
- Assists in initiating emergency measures as required.
- Performs EKGs, places holter and event monitors.
- Connects patients to stress testing equipment.
- Gathers patient history & lab values prior to testing for the cardiologist.
- Participates in process improvement.
- Communicates interdepartmentally and house wide as needed.

Education/Experience Required:
- Minimum of a HS Diploma or equivalency
- EKG Technician, Cardiology Technician, Exercise Physiologist, who have had the following:
- Cardiology Stress Testing, EKG, Holter & Event Testing
- American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred.
Physical/Environmental Requirements:
This job requires frequent bending, carrying, pulling, pushing, reaching, standing, stooping, walking and lifting over 10 lbs. There will be occasional need for climbing stairs, lifting in excess of 50 – 100 lbs and sitting. Constant use of hearing, sight and speech. Frequent use of smell and touch. Frequent keyboard and telephone use. Constant concentration and problem solving.
Pay Range: $19.90 - $34.81
This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. The pay range for this position is established and governed by the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Employees hired into this position will receive compensation consistent with the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
