Patient Transporter

Responsibilities include:

1. Documenting patient trips via Hospital Throughput computer program.
2. Transporting patients to and from care areas, assisting with mobility as needed.
3. Communicating with patients and staff regarding patient movements and departure procedures.
4. Transporting equipment under the department’s responsibility.
5. Utilizing mobile devices to access hospital programs.
6. Assisting patients with dressing/undressing and ensuring safety during transport.
7. Obtaining and handing off the “Ticket to Ride” with nursing staff.
8. Maintaining cleanliness of patient equipment and reporting issues.

Qualifications include:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. American Heart Association CPR/BLS certification.
3. Basic computer skills; previous customer service and healthcare experience preferred.
4. Physical ability to perform tasks involving lifting over 100 lbs, bending, and standing.
5. Must be vaccinated against influenza and COVID-19.
