What You’ll Do
- Conduct nutrition screenings and comprehensive assessments for high-risk patients, ensuring tailored, evidence-based care.
- Develop, implement, and update personalized nutrition care plans, including parenteral and enteral nutrition recommendations.
- Collaborate closely with physicians and healthcare professionals to optimize tube feeding and Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) management.
- Serve as a mentor and preceptor for dietetic interns, contributing to their growth and the continuous improvement of our clinical training program.
- Deliver nutritional education and training to healthcare staff, enhancing knowledge across the care team.
- Contribute to the creation and refinement of patient education materials, clinical forms, policies, and standards of care.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in accordance with hospital policies, ensuring effective communication of nutritional data.
- Engage actively in quality improvement initiatives, departmental meetings, and interdisciplinary projects to enhance patient care and operational excellence.
- Pursue continuous professional growth by researching current scientific literature and participating in evidence-based practice improvements.
- Support community health through educational fairs and outreach programs, representing our commitment to wellness beyond the hospital walls.
Experience/Knowledge/Skills
- Experience with computer systems required, including web-based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.
Education
- Bachelor\’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics required.
- Master’s Degree required for new graduates effective January 2024.
Registration/Certification
- Registered Dietitian (RD) required; Massachusetts License (Dietitian/Nutritionist) within 90 days of hire.
