Job Description:
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Performs, from work orders or instructions, any or all trades to include plumbing, steam fitting, carpentry, and minor electrical and related maintenance of high and low pressure boiler systems.
- Performs both minor and major construction to all buildings.
- Repairs & installs drywall, mudding, and taping.
- Acts as an Emergency Preparedness First Responder, as trained
- Conducts Preventative Maintenance (PM’s) as scheduled or assigned
- Operates emergency generating systems.
- Resets circuit breakers after restoration of utility company’s power.
- Conducts spaces moves and relocations as required
- Installs window air conditioners and maintains clean filters and proper lubrication.
- Constructs and finishes or refinishes furniture, bookcases and cabinets.
- Installs tile floors, carpeting and tile ceilings.
- Conducts daily monitoring Rounds as required
- Involved and trained to respond to shutdowns and re-starts
- Respond and complete Grand PM Work Tickets as required/assigned

Education/Experience Required:
- Ability to read and write English at 12th grade level, plus vocational training in carpentry.
- Minimum of ten years of construction experience. Must include two (2) years of Class A type building and renovation/finish cabinets.
- Must be able to interpret blue prints and follow building codes of the State of Massachusetts.
- Preferred work experience within a healthcare establishment, working knowledge of Joint Commission Standards.
- Able to read and interpret Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
Registration/Certification:
- Mass DPS Unrestricted Construction Supervisor License
- Able to obtain State “Special to Operate” boiler certification within 6 months of hire
Physical/Environmental Requirements
This job requires frequent bending, carrying, pulling, pushing, reaching, standing, stooping, walking and lifting over 10 lbs. There will be occasional need for climbing stairs, lifting in excess of 50 – 100 lbs and sitting.
Constant use of hearing, sight and speech. Frequent use of smell and touch. Frequent keyboard and telephone use. Constant concentration and problem solving.
