40 hours per week; 8-hour shifts (11 am – 7:30 pm weekdays; 7 am – 3:30 pm or 8 am – 4:30 pm weekends & holidays); rotating weekends and holidays.

Job Description

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Primary responsibility is infection control.
  • Maintain sterile technique.
  • Perform duties according to procedure.
  • Clean, sterilize, package, and assemble instrument sets.
  • Clean reusable items, including surgical pieces, and process through sterilizers.
  • Handle waste disposal and decontamination.
  • Inspect equipment and instruments for condition and operation.
  • Collect items for processing.
  • Perform daily maintenance and housekeeping duties.
  • Assist in data collection for Quality Assurance.
  • Potential growth in surgical case charts, sterilization containers, and computerized applications.

Education/Experience Required:

  • High School Diploma

Registration/Certification:

  • Currently enrolled in a Central Sterile Technician program; certification required within 1 year of employment.
