Job Purpose
As a Test Engineer, you will evaluate software applications to ensure they meet specified requirements and are free of defects. Your role will involve designing and executing test plans, identifying and documenting defects, and working closely with Developers to resolve issues. You will utilize various testing techniques and tools to verify functionality and ensure a high-quality product is delivered to end-users.
Additionally, you will take ownership of quality assurance for Sportsbook projects, collaborating with the Test Lead and Senior Testers to define the testing strategy and plan.
Job Duties
- Reviewing and analysing requirement documents ensuring both business and technical requirements are fully understood.
- Producing test documentation (test plans and test scripts) to agreed standards.
- Conducting quality testing on projects and raising issues to the agreed processes and timescales.
- Identifying and carrying out functional and regression testing.
- Reporting defects accurately and managing through to successful resolution via Jira.
- Maintaining and creating product knowledge documentation.
Essentials
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Substantial background in commercial software testing encompassing API, Database and web testing.
- Proven track record of producing comprehensive test documentation, including test plans, test scripts, defect reports, and progress updates.
- Solid comprehension of the Software Development Lifecycle.
- Proficiency in managing tasks under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
- Established experience in collaborating on frequent software releases.
- Ability to react well to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
- Aptitude for both team collaboration and independent initiative.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Proactive commitment to personal growth and advancement.
- Hands-on familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to swiftly acquire and employ new technical skills to conquer testing challenges.
- Prior experience of working in the gambling industry or comparable projects with similar scope and intricacy.
- Familiarity with test management, issue tracking, and project management tools.
- Understanding of contemporary testing techniques and approaches.
- Previous testing experience involving 3rd Party feed data.
- Proficiency in API testing.
- Experience of using Jira and Confluence.
- Strong aptitude for problem-solving.
