Job Purpose
The Agile Delivery Lead role exists to improve how work flows across a product area. You will help Product and Engineering deliver meaningful outcomes by increasing predictability, reducing friction, and ensuring that work moves smoothly from idea to customer value. You operate at a system level — looking across multiple teams to understand constraints, variation, and the real causes of flow issues. You work hands‑on with teams, staying close to the work so you can spot patterns early and help the organisation focus on the things that actually improve delivery performance.
Job Duties
- Partnering with Product Managers and Engineering Managers to create clarity around priorities, demand and flow
- Working across teams to expose and reduce bottlenecks, handovers, hidden work, and other systemic constraints
- Using flow-based measures — WIP, cycle time, throughput — to understand performance and guide decisions (signals, not targets)
- Coaching PMs, EMs and teams to build capability in flow thinking, lean delivery practices and product-led ways of working
- Helping teams shift from project-based delivery to continuous, outcome-oriented product delivery
- Bringing clarity and structure to complex delivery environments, enabling leaders to make better decisions
- Creating visibility of dependencies and helping teams simplify or eliminate them
- Supporting the product area in adopting sustainable working practices that increase predictability without heavy process
- Facilitating meaningful conversations between teams, leaders, and stakeholders when the system needs change
What success looks like:
- Work flows smoothly across the product area, with fewer delays or surprises
- Teams make better decisions because they understand demand, capacity and flow
- Predictability improves without increasing process or governance
- Teams become more independent, confident, and fluent in flow thinking
- Delivery issues are surfaced early and addressed at a system level, not fixed team‑by‑team
- The organisation steadily shifts toward product-led delivery, focusing on outcomes rather than tasks
