Role Overview: Tax Technology Senior Manager – Location: London/Leeds/Dublin. Hybrid – 2 days per week (Dublin only). Permanent role reporting directly to the group’s CFO and the Tax Director. The Tax Team leads vital tax functions across Flutter Group’s offices and collaborates with business partners to manage tax responsibilities using advanced technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead all automation activities related to tax.
  • Offer expertise in finance ERP, tax compliance and reporting software.
  • Lead improvement projects and mentor team members.
  • Collaborate with the Associate Director of Tax Technology to define and deliver a focused roadmap.
  • Lead multiple tax technology projects including requirement definition, testing, configuration, data management and alignment with team priorities.
  • Manage senior collaborators and coordinate with the Tax team for system updates and tax requirement definition.
  • Support the Tax teams through key cycles such as year‑end, quarterly reporting and indirect tax returns.
  • Proactively promote and develop tax use cases across systems to deliver automation.
  • Keep abreast of new tax rules and technology developments to ensure compliance and competitiveness.
  • Continue developing skills in AI, Data Science, RPA and Machine Learning.
  • Assist in the development and deployment of tax technology solutions with the wider team.
  • Deliver training and assistance to team members.
  • Act as a mentor and support for junior team members, helping them develop project and collaborator management skills.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8–10 years in tax technology.
  • Accountancy and/or tax qualifications preferred; strong understanding of accounting principles and commercial awareness essential.
  • Solid knowledge of tax laws and compliance requirements.
  • Proficient in tax software solutions (Oracle EPM, TRCs preferred; experience with Oracle ERP, Vertex, e‑invoicing, Edge also encouraged).
  • Experience in a similar in‑house or large advisory role.
  • Strong background in direct or indirect taxes.
  • Experience with low‑code platforms such as Alteryx or UiPath preferred but not required.
  • Experience with Python or Java preferred but not required.
  • Excellent project management skills and experience leading cross‑functional teams and managing complex projects.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to collaborate with all levels including non‑finance audiences.
  • Analytical approach with strong problem‑solving abilities.
  • Agile and flexible, learns quickly in new situations.
  • Well‑organised, detail‑oriented, proactive continuous improvement mindset.
  • Demonstrated ownership of workstreams, ensuring timely high‑standard delivery and managing expectations.
  • Guided junior team members (preferred but not mandatory).
