The Ecommerce Trading Manager is responsible for the day-to-day commercial performance of Nkuku's D2C and Trade websites. This role owns trading execution, onsite experience, and digital optimisation - driving growth in conversion, AOV, margin, and customer engagement. It requires a hands-on operator who can take ownership, make decisions, and deliver without close supervision.

Working cross-functionally with Growth, Merchandising, Trade, Marketing, and Creative, the role ensures the digital experience reflects Nkuku's Natural, Crafted, Ethical values while delivering consistent commercial performance. This is a role for someone who is comfortable owning the detail, whilst thinking commercially – ensuring every campaign, category, and customer journey performs to its full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Trading & Commercial Performance
    • Own day-to-day trading performance across D2C and Trade websites.
    • Plan and execute the onsite trading calendar, including promotions, campaigns, and product launches.
    • Lead weekly trading reviews, analysing performance vs budget, forecast, and last year, and translating this into clear actions.
    • Monitor and drive performance across conversion, AOV, margin, Demand, and Banked.
    • Optimise navigation, filtering, search, and product merchandising to improve conversion and product discovery.
    • Work closely with Merchandising and Trade to align stock, intake, pricing, and markdown activity.
    • Ensure strong execution of seasonal moments, campaigns, and key trading events.
    • Manage key third-party relationships across CRO, email, and digital performance partners.
  • Onsite Experience & Optimisation
    • Own the end-to-end onsite experience across all devices.
    • Identify and deliver continuous improvements to UX and CRO based on data, insight, and customer behaviour.
    • Maintain a clear and prioritised backlog of onsite improvements, focused on commercial impact.
    • Translate trading and customer insight into practical, testable improvements.
    • Ensure the site is fast, intuitive, and commercially effective at all stages of the journey.
  • Digital Development & Delivery
    • Manage the digital development roadmap, prioritising work based on business impact and resource.
    • Own the relationship with development partners, including briefing, QA, testing, and delivery.
    • Deliver key digital projects such as theme enhancements, personalisation, and functionality improvements.
    • Ensure consistent, high-quality execution of onsite changes and releases.
  • Content, SEO & Brand Execution
    • Oversee onsite content to ensure it is commercially effective and aligned with brand storytelling.
    • Manage seasonal content updates, campaign launches, and collection storytelling.
    • Work with Marketing and SEO teams to improve organic visibility and content performance.
    • Ensure consistency of brand across all digital touchpoints.
  • Customer & Cross-Functional Alignment
    • Champion the customer journey from discovery through to checkout.
    • Work closely with Growth (Performance, CRM, Email) to align onsite activity with marketing campaigns.
    • Collaborate with Customer Service and Operations to identify and resolve friction points.
    • Use customer feedback and behavioural data to inform improvements.
  • Leadership & Ownership
    • Lead and develop the ecommerce trading team, setting clear priorities and expectations.
    • Take ownership of outcomes, not just activity – driving performance through action.
    • Work confidently across teams to align priorities and ensure delivery.
    • Bring structure, pace, and accountability to trading and onsite execution.

  • Proven experience in an ecommerce trading role within a D2C business.

  • Hands-on experience of onsite trading, merchandising, and optimisation.

  • Confident using data to make decisions and prioritise activity.
  • Self-sufficient and proactive – able to take ownership without needing close direction.
  • Collaborative and pragmatic, with the ability to get things done across teams.
