As a Senior Business Development Manager - Data Centres, you will play a key role in driving growth by identifying, developing, and converting new pipeline opportunities and inquiries within the data centre sector. You will work to secure assets for the business to design, build, own, and operate within agreed commercial parameters, ensuring that all activity supports both commercial success and long‑term value. A central part of the role is delivering an exceptional customer experience through clear communication, consistent and reliable service, meaningful value creation, and the successful delivery of each project from initial inquiry through to completion.
Your responsibilities as a Senior Business Development Manager - Data Centres:
- Generate and Develop New Business Opportunities – Proactively identify and build new pipeline opportunities with both new and existing clients, using internal systems to track activity and convert interest into formal enquiries or quotation requests.
- Build and Maintain Strong Client Relationships – Maintain trust‑based relationships through proactive, consistent communication, ensuring clients feel supported, informed, and confident throughout every stage of the process.
- Manage Enquiries and Coordinate Quotation Processes – Validate formal enquiries, understand client requirements, and prepare high‑level budget quotations to support feasibility studies.
- Create project reference numbers in simPRO and instruct Technical Coordinators and Designers to begin the quotation process.
- Issue, Review, and Negotiate Proposals – Issue formal quotations and letters of offer, follow up within 48 hours, and lead discussions to review proposals, clarify details, and negotiate terms.
- Coordinate requotes with design and estimating teams, including LMAM involvement where adjustments are required.
- Oversee Contract Acceptance and Stakeholder Communication – Acknowledge signed contracts, guide clients on next steps, and distribute acceptance updates and documentation to all relevant internal stakeholders to ensure alignment before project initiation.
- Lead Handover and Project Launch Activities – Arrange and lead Winners Meetings within 48 hours of contract acceptance to brief internal teams, address queries, and complete a thorough handover to Design Approval and Operations to enable seamless project delivery.
Experience:
- Experience in a similar B2B role with a tracked record of working with Data Centres.
- Experienced at successfully managing a portfolio of customers with full account management.
- Evidence of previous sales positions and targets achieved.
- ICP/IDNO experience or sales experience into the data centre sector.
