We are supported by teams across the globe in the US, North Asia and Europe. We are looking for a motivated person with a passion for numbers and insight to join our FP&A team as a Graduate Business Analyst, based in our Linlithgow office. You will work closely with experienced finance professionals, developing your analytical, commercial and stakeholder management skills while gaining exposure to key financial planning and decision making activities across the business. This role is ideal for a numerate graduate seeking a career in finance, analytics, or commercial business partnering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with monthly forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning processes
  • Support preparation of management reports, dashboards, and performance packs
  • Analyse financial and operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Support business cases, investment appraisals, and cost-benefit analyses
  • Work with large datasets from ERP, planning, and reporting tools
  • Help improve data quality, reporting automation, and process efficiency

  • Build a strong understanding of the organisation's business model and value drivers
  • Progressively take ownership of defined analysis areas

Skills & Competencies - Essential

  • Strong numerical and analytical ability
  • Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Strong to advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables; Power Query a plus)
  • Ability to communicate insights clearly, both written and verbal
  • Curiosity and desire to understand business drivers
  • Strong organisation and ability to manage deadlines

  • Exposure to financial modelling, forecasting, or budgeting
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or similar tools
  • Understanding of basic accounting and financial statements
  • Internship or placement year in finance, consulting, or analytics

Education & Qualifications

  • Degree (or expected degree) in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Mathematics, Engineering, or similar
  • Minimum 2:1 (or equivalent)

This role is designed as a pipeline into FP&A Analyst or Finance Business Partner roles, offering structured on-the-job learning, exposure to senior stakeholders, professional qualification support, and increasing responsibility over time. The Calnex team are currently working in a hybrid model at the manager's discretion. This flexibility is dependent on job role and supports a positive work/life balance and the needs of the business. This role requires a minimum of 2 working days in the office (Tuesday and Thursday), with the other three days at home when possible. This may vary depending on what is required to fulfil the requirements of the role. Flexibility and communication are key to making the hybrid model work for both the successful candidate and the business.

This role does not meet the minimum salary threshold for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship. Applicants must have the ongoing, unrestricted right to live and work in the UK, meaning you do not need sponsorship now or in the future and your right to work is not time-limited.
