We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join our Finance Team. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity of the organisations financial records, supporting management reporting, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional who enjoys working in a dynamic environment and is looking to contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes and controls.

Main duties of the job include:

  • Maintaining accurate ledgers, journals, and reconciliations.
  • Processing invoices, payments, and receipts.
  • Managing accounts payable and receivable with timely resolution of discrepancies.
  • Taking ownership of balance sheet reconciliations and supporting month-end and year-end close.
  • Assisting with budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Producing management accounts and financial reports.
  • Monitoring expenditure against budget and ensuring transactions comply with regulations and internal policies.
  • Supporting internal and external audits by providing documentation.
  • Ensuring compliance with UK financial regulations including tax, VAT, and payroll.
  • Processing monthly payroll (deductions, pensions, and statutory payments) and liaising with employees and external providers on payroll queries.
  • Helping maintain and improve financial systems and processes, identifying opportunities for efficiency gains, stronger controls, and cost savings.
  • Contributing to broader finance-related projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Part-qualified or fully qualified (e.g., AAT, ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or equivalent experience.

Essential Experience:

  • Proven experience in a finance, management accounting, or accounting role.
  • Experience preparing management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Familiarity with financial software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Xero) and advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
