Our team is growing, and we're excited to welcome a talented Senior Multi-Utility Designer – Post-Contract to join us.

As a Senior Multi-Utility Designer – Post-Contract, you'll produce a detailed multi-utility design approval pack that will meet the requirements of all external stakeholders including the upstream DNO, GT, Incumbent Water Company, Last Mile, Fire Authority and external Solicitors for land rights. You will also line manage a team of designers and support trainees through their development programmes.

Your responsibilities as a Senior Multi-Utility Designer – Post-Contract:

  • Team Leadership and Development: Provide effective leadership to Intermediate and Trainee Designers through coaching, technical guidance and day to day support, while managing people responsibilities and developing capability across the design team.
  • Construction Design and Review: Prepare and review multi utility construction designs, attending Winners Meetings to assess quoted designs, capturing feedback and ensuring all amendments are incorporated prior to CAD progression.
  • Variations, Approvals and Technical Documentation: Produce Design Variation Orders and formal design approval documentation, compiling comprehensive approval packs for electricity, gas and water networks.
  • Compliance, Governance and Design Assurance: Manage and prioritise design approval activities in line with required timescales, coordinating GIRS, NERS and WIRS reviews and ensuring designs are approved, tracked and controlled within simPRO.
  • Construction Release and Project Support: Issue final Approved for Construction drawings and distribute completed design documentation to clients and Project Managers to support efficient project mobilisation and delivery.

Preferred Experience / Qualifications:

  • Multi-Utility Design Experience
  • HNC / Relevant Degree

The successful candidate will be resilient, adaptable, and results-focused, with strong IT literacy and experience using Microsoft Office tools. They will demonstrate excellent attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills, and a proven ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
